The morning rolled off me, as I downed a black coffee, My vision stay misty, stay sticky like toffee, My girl stays cross at me, cos I don't know the cost to be living this life, like this mission is lost to me Im 20%, , still not paying my rent, but im staying unbent, swaying on my fence Im undecided, at the place where im resided, which the government provided, so why you try and hide it im like 20,000 under, every time I blunder, I wonder when lll light the sky up with the thunder im singing “aye currumba” as I waken from my slumber succes is like the lottery, I pick a random number so welcome to the twilight, im checking out the skylight im checking out the nightlight, checking out my eyesight deteriorating, lost in my own delirium deleraelium, living inside the aquarium so breathe in with me, and lets see where the story is skip to the good part, and get to where the glory is emerging victorious, that much is obvious hard to be a real man, in this rap land misogynist hard to keep moving as im walking through the boggiest hard to keep moving as im walking through the boggiest of waters, thinking of stuff you never thought of stored in the back of my mind like some sort of Art exhibition, with some parts looking missing Im talking to your mind, but there's just parts of you that listen SO hark when im spitting, as you sit and reminisce, and i spark my ambition, and reload my ammunition in the dark I will glisten like a poacher going fishing. Accordéon – Ghostown (Rael Powell) V2 Hold back when im waking, shaking up your dirty bacon Paying double for your rations, mashing up your dirty cash-in fashion Shows it when your faking, shaking fists up in my breaking patience Dont you know im pagan, making bridges like a mason Placing pieces on my chess board, gets more stronger by the hour, power tasting sweet and sour, shower spits upon my flower, cower cover from the residents, the kings and queens and presidents bring me to and swallow whole break my bones and lose control to my roots im heathen, breathing life into the season leaving traces of what im believing traces of the gold im heaving scheming from the world im bleeding heeding no advice im needing hearing that somebody's nearing fearing that nobody's steering

about

Recorded in the summer of 2008 during a week long session, a lot of these tracks had started out back in 2002 (Pecking, Whisky, Monster, Moy) and a most of them had featured on the homemade album ‘Culture Vulture” All the music and sequencing/sampling was done on my Yamaha Motif (whereas for Culture Vulture I was using Yamaha RM1X and Sony Acid) The biggest change for this album is that it featured Baptizer on the guitar and DJ Kirsa on scratch, I had met them gigging in Montpellier around 2005 and we had started playing live around France, despite leaving Montpellier in 2007 for Grenoble, we actually started playing more and more gigs thanks to a young motivated guy named Jean-Lo in Grenoble. So this album kind of captured the evolution of my songs at the time and how we were playing them live. A lot of the tracks have 2 or 3 or more parts to them, for example Ghostown goes off into distinct parts with different riffs. The songs don’t really respect any typical popular codes, i.e there is not really verse - chorus - verse chorus.

Accordeon was a basic track I’d made on the Motif, it got radically improved when my brother Lewis Powell Reid was visiting with his accordeon, he redid my keyboard parts making them better then invented a couple of different melodies on the spot, the resulting mix of folk and hip hop has been a success, with over 1 million streams (across platforms), it was last on the album since it didn’t really fit in with the songs we’d performed as a trio.

Reflections samples my Mum - Jo Powell and Paul Rae.

The Artwork was done by the talented Degiheugi . The album was mastered by Remy Alcaraz

Released in 2009
Some of these songs were originally created back in 2001 (monster + Pecking Your Eyes+ Moy Moy Moy)
2003 (Johnny Marr + Insects Dont Know), they have since then know umpteenth remixes and different versions, and have continued to evolve since this album was released.
Recorded and mixed mostly during the summer of 2008 by a very motivated Remy Alcaraz.
