I love playing word games, problem is nobody gets them, or nobody cares, so I’m alone cackling at my incredible ingenuity, or perhaps I exaggerate. Anyway all this to say what? To explain the title “Wuchak”, you could google Wuchak and it would give you your first clue, people probably think It’s a hommage to Wu-Tang, but it’s not, the biggest clue is on the track “Day of the Wuchak”, firstly a Wuchak is the original American Indian name for a Woodchucker - Wuchak - Wootchuk - Woodchuck - another name for the woodchucker is a Groundhog, what’s a groundhog famous for? Bill Murray! Groundhog Day - thus - The day of the Wuchak - Groundhog Day was a fantastic film from 93 about a man who wakes up on the same day again and again and again. Monotony is the bane of my life.

Moving on to the actual music, Wuchak has some weird and wonderful directions, starting with a type of folk electro hop in “Tightrope” which samples a song by my Mum about our distant Grandmother who died on the tightrope.

Who’s Dub, takes us on a roots reggae hop voyage through the jungle, then everything goes pear shaped for Who’s Step, the militia step out from behind the trees and start firing. Circus is probably the most original track on the album so no-one will like this one, I do! Sorcery is one of the best crafted songs lyrically, a tale of Idiocracy, falling into the trap of social media addiction.

This album regroups a lot of material that was started back in 2014/15.
A lot of those ideas where started but never finished.
In 2019 after releasing Shanksville I rediscovered these unfinished tracks and started reworking them and writing lyrics (or recycling lyrics in the case of a few of the tracks
I feel the album has a common thread running right the way through it (perhaps with the exception of Circus)
I wanted to make an album that flowed together, that could be listened to from A to Z, that you could sit back and chill out to
